Description
The model AP1120 is a small omnidirectional Acoustic Beacon, or Pinger, which is primarily used for tracking, relocating, marking and signaling. It is available in any frequency between 32 and 45 kHz. The beacon may be attached to any number of underwater objects that are either fixed or moving. The unit is switched on by immersion in either fresh or salt water or it may also be switched on by using a shorting link across the water contacts.
An inexpensive and easy to replace 9 VDC battery powers the beacon for a period of one or two months depending on the type of battery used. Its polycarbonate plastic housing and epoxy encapsulated electronics offer maximum corrosion resistance and reliability. A blue LED light located on top next to the water contacts will flash only if a sound wave is actually being generated by the beacon. This quickly assures the operator that the beacon is operating properly. A ¼” hole in the base allows for a Line or Lanyard to be attached to the beacon.
Stocked frequencies are 34.00, 37.00 and 40.00 kHz. Any frequency between 32 and 45 kHz is available for this model at no additional charge. Contact us for delivery on custom frequencies. Custom ping lengths and ping rates are also available.
